Finance and investment execs square off in the Scrabble® Corporate Challenge
Teams of banking, financial, and business executives engaged in a friendly “war of words” as part of the
Frontier College Scrabble® Corporate Challenge, held in Toronto on March 2, 2016. The annual event, presented by TMX Group and sponsored in part by Fundata Canada Inc., raises money for literacy programs across Canada.
In addition to the investment and finance industries, various areas of corporate Canada were represented, including upper-level managers from the technology, telecommunications, data services, legal, and other sectors.
“As one of Canada’s top data and data solutions companies for the investment industry, we know how important it is to be able to access information,” said Janny Vincent, President and CEO of Fundata. “Supporting literacy means giving people the tools to gain knowledge. Fundata actively supports financial literacy and education, and we are pleased to extend this support to general literacy programs through our sponsorship of the Scrabble Corporate Challenge,” she added.
Company teams brought out their best to compete for points in the well-known challenging word game. Players could also opt to buy an assist or two from free-roaming Scrabble experts. “It’s a fun event,” said Ms. Vincent, “and a great opportunity to join others in the financial industry to support the terrific programs
Frontier College runs for children, youth, and adults.”
Each year over 350 people take part in the competition to help foster reading and writing skills in high-needs communities in Canada. To learn more about the event, visit
